Escalating conflict has disrupted the lives of countless Iranian students and families living outside of Iran. What began as a distant crisis has now become a daily reality marked by uncertainty, isolation, and fear.
Young Iranians who have left their home country to explore and honor opportunity now have no access to financial support, no ability to contact loved ones, and no clear path forward due to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Internet Blackout.
We call on people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and communities to come together in shared humanity. Compassion knows no borders, and support does not require agreement—only empathy.
Many of these individuals have left their home country of Iran to pursue lofty endeavors such as academia, employment, and other personal and worldly fulfillment. All these individuals have entered their host country after vigorous vetting and are no threats. The pool includes those who are obtaining their Masters, Juris Doctorates, Medical Licenses, and other Professional and Doctorate degrees.
For those who were self-supporting, many Iranian nationals abroad are currently unable to obtain or renew work permits due to new immigration policies. As a result, students and families who once supported themselves are now left without income, stability, or resources. At the same time, communication barriers from the Islamic Republic have made it nearly impossible to reach family members back home, leaving many in emotional distress and complete uncertainty about the safety of their loved ones.
The combination of financial hardship, isolation, and psychological strain has created an urgent humanitarian crisis. Tragically, some individuals have reached a breaking point, with reports of severe mental health struggles and even suicide.
This fundraising has been established by Attorney Taher Kameli, principal of Kameli Law, working entirely pro bono to provide immediate, and direct assistance to those affected. Every dollar raised will go directly to Iranian students and struggling families abroad who are in urgent need of support (aside from standard GoFundMe processing fees, as well as 3rd party payment program fees needed).
Funds will be used for:
- Emergency housing and rent assistance
- Food and basic living expenses
- Tuition, Mental health and crisis support, and Textbooks
- Temporary relief for those unable to legally work
Our goal is to raise $1,000,000 to provide meaningful, life-sustaining relief during this critical time.
As of March 2026, we have over 1000 individual requests from many countries.
These individuals are not asking for luxury—they are asking for stability, dignity, and the ability to survive while cut off from their homes and support systems.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach those who can.
This is not a matter of politics, religion, or ideology—it is a human reality. Students, like all of us, deserve the basic dignity of stability, the opportunity to continue their education, and the reassurance that they are not alone.
Any contribution, no matter the size can help bridge the gap for those who have lost their lifeline, ensuring that hope, education, and basic needs remain within reach.
Together, we can provide hope where it is urgently needed.
